Dr. Seuss Cake Pops

Tomorrow is Dr. Seuss' birthday and my son, Joseph, will have a celebration at school. He is taking some cake pops to share with his classmates. This is my version of Dr. Seuss Hat Cake Pops.

I made marshmallow fondant to make the bottom of the hat. Marshmallow homemade fondant is much tastier than the one you buy in stores. The recipe is very simple and you can find it here.

I followed the basic recipe for cake pops from Bakerella using white cake and glue the fondant circles with some candy melt.

I covered them with the vanilla candy melt.

and using strawberry fruit roll-ups I made the stripes and the top.

Ready to be delivered.

Let's try them... They look good and they taste better.
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Valentine's Day Treats

Today, I had to sent Valentine's Day treats for my daughter's class. I didn't have any idea of what to prepare, but I knew I could put together something using stuff from my storage. The only thing I bought specially for Valentine's Day was these ribbons from the Target dollar isle.

I found in my storage some heart shape bracelets from a pinata filling left overs, also from Target $1.99 for 20.

I also had cand y melt in 3 colors.

.

I printed these simple tags with my 4 year old daughter signature that, of course, I had to scan. She wouldn't have writen 24 times her name!

I ended making these rustic design lollipops from candy melt

and when I wrapped them in cellophane bags, tied the bracelets with the ribbon and the tags.

They look just lovely!

Cookies on a stick

I have been spending time preparing for my classes. Did I mentioned them before? Well, when you organize parties you have to do a lot of stuff. I ended making cupcakes, cookies and cake balls for my parties and I decided to improve my designs by learning some cake decorating techniques. It is time consuming, but it is a lot of fun!

Yesterday, I promised the kids to play with them in the kitchen. We baked some cookies on sticks. They called them "lolli-cookies". We made royal icing in bright colors: orange, blue and yellow and used some fondant in shapes. The designs were easy, but pretty. This was the result...

Valentines's Day Treats

I got inspired by www.bakerella.com and I made tons and tons of cake pops this past weekend. They are easy and fun to make. At the beginning, my chocolate covering process wasn't smooth, but I got it! We tried different shapes with stick and with out them. They were yummi! I can't stop trying and trying them. I am chocolate lover!

These hearts were delivered at school as treats for my kids' teachers.

Our Valentines

Following the inspirational Valentine's Day Crafts ideas I posted from Martha Stewart website. I finished our version. Unfortunately, my kids won't be able to deliver them before Valentine's Day due to the snow storm. Hopefully, next week they will catch up with the celebrations!

Mickey Mouse

These are some chocolate cake pops we gave the guest.

I created these Mickey Mouse favor tags for our friend Danny. He is turning 2 this coming Monday.
